NOTE: Teams that are not scheduled to play/officiate may come later, but must report to the site director in case of changes. All 2nd match teams need to be ready to play by 8:30am
Warm-ups: Will be 10 minutes for the first two matches, 5 minutes thereafter. 10 minute—4:4:2 and 5 minute—2:2:1 with no shared hitting. First listed team has the court first. Then switch. Both teams serve for the third time period.
Pool Play: Pool play will be 2 sets to 20 with cap at 22. These rules may be changed if the pool is running late. Pool play starts at 8:00 AM sharp with warms ups 10 minutes prior. Ref. teams please be ready at 7:50 AM with whistles and enough help.
Match Scoring Method: We will be using the three point scoring method during pool play.
1 point is awarded for each set won
1 point is awarded for the team that had more points scored. In the event of a tie, ½ point is awarded to
both teams.
Playoffs: Playoff matches will be 2 out of 3 sets. First two to 20 with cap at 22 and if needed the 3rd would be to 15 with cap at 17. For the 3rd place medals, there will be one set played to 25 with cap at 25. All teams will make playoffs and the brackets and officiating duties will be handed out at the coaches meeting.
Awards: Gold Division – First, second and third place will receive medals.
Silver Division – First, second and third place will receive medals.
Officiating Responsibilities:
- Coaches must be the up or down official for pool play and must be the up official for playoff matches
- At the 12’s level the coach must be the up official
- Members of the officiating team must avoid distractions such as iPods and cell phones while working
- Two-three at scoring table
- One down ref
- Two line judges
- Keep sets on time and moving -- Time between sets is 3 minutes. Timeouts are 30 seconds
- USAVB Rules will apply.
Misc:
- Each team is responsible to provide a USAV regulation game ball, as well as volleyballs for warm-ups
- Concessions will be available
- No outside food/candy/pop or coolers are allowed to be brought into the facility.
- Team camps are located in the Senior High Cafeteria only.
- Ball handling is only allowed inside the gyms. Please do not play with the balls in the team camp area, hallways, etc. to avoid damaging the facility.
- Please keep bags with you, underneath the bench chairs or near your team bench. This way we can ensure your valuables stay with you at all times.
- Clean up your team area and check with the tournament/site director on arrival and before you leave
Inclement Weather Cancellations:
Generally, the tournament will take place regardless of the weather conditions. However, if you will be late due to the weather, please contact LuAnne Roelike or Janet Zenzen at the numbers listed below.
If you arrive late and have not notified the Tournament staff, your first match maybe forfeited.

Ø Heading South on US-71 at the stop lights (intersection of Main Street and Sinclair Lewis Avenue), take a left
Ø Heading East, go down 3 blocks to Ash Street and take a right
Ø Proceed a half mile and take a left onto State Road
Ø Sauk Centre High School will be immediately in front of you.
From the South:
Ø Heading North on US-71, when you cross over I-94, at the stop lights by McDonald’s take a right onto 12th Street South/CR-186
Ø Heading East, go a half mile and by River’s Edge take a left onto State Road
Ø Proceed a half mile to Sauk Centre High School on your right.
From the East:
Ø Heading West on I-94, take the US 71/MN-28 exit, Exit 127
Ø Take a right onto Main Street/US-71/MN-28
Ø At the stop lights by McDonald’s take a right onto 12th Street South/CR-186
Ø Heading East, go a half mile and by River’s Edge take a left onto State Road
Ø Proceed a half mile to Sauk Centre High School on your right.
From the West:
Ø Heading East on I-94, take the US 71/MN-28 exit, Exit 127
Ø Take a left onto Main Street/US-71/MN-28
Ø At the stop lights by McDonald’s take a right onto 12th Street South/CR-186
